How can I access free LaserGene (DNAStar) licenses?
To access LaserGene software please email the CGCF support team at cgcf-support@med.cornell.edu from a valid Weill Cornell Medical College or HSS email address with information about what kind of computer you have (Macintosh or PC) and the OAC/ITS/IT tag on your computer.
What do I need to get LaserGene (DNAStar) installed on my computer?
To get Lasergene installed on your computer it needs to be ITS/IT tagged (from Weill Cornell or HSS) and to fit the systems requirements for the version of Lasergene you are installing. You can find details about systems requirements here: http://www.dnastar.com/t-technicalrequirements.aspx
How can I access GeneSpring or Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) software via the Computational Genomics Core Facility (CGCF)?
To access GeneSpring or Ingenuity software through the Computational Genomics Core Facility (CGCF) you will need to subscribe to the CGCF. To subscribe to the CGCF please e-mail us at cgcf-support@med.cornell.edu or call Audrey Rivera at (212) 746-6361.
Once you have subscribed to the CGCF, to access GeneSpring:
You need to provide us with the WMC or Cornell, Ithaca IP address of the computer from which you wish to access GeneSpring. You can find the IP address of the computer on which you want to install GeneSpring by visiting the following website from that computer: http://internetfrog.com

To access Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) software:
You need to provide us with your name, WMC or Cornell, Ithaca e-mail address, phone number and affiliated department. Upon receiving this from you we will forward a request to Ingenuity and you will hear from them directly.

How can I switch my GeneSpring (Agilent) subscription/installation to a new computer?
To switch your GeneSpring installation from one computer to another you need to send us the IP address of your new computer. You can find the IP address of the computer on which you want to install GeneSpring by visiting the following website from that computer: http://internetfrog.com
Can I have GeneSpring 7.x and GeneSpring 10.x running on the same computer?
Yes. Both version 7.x and 10.x can run on the same computer. However, before you install any new version of GeneSpring it is advisable to backup your Data folder.
I installed GeneSpring 10.x on my Mac and it gives me a license error. How can I fix this?
After the installation process, open the strand.lic file (located in the license folder of your GeneSpring installation) using a text editor and replace the line 10961@pollock.med.cornell.edu with 10961@140.251.30.25 and save the file.
Can more than one user use my GeneSpring or Ingenuity Pathway Analysis Software subscription?
No. Each CGCF subscription is per user and allows access to GeneSpring and/or Ingenuity for one person.
How can I access additional support and/or training for CGCF software?
As a CGCF subscriber you have access to direct support for the provided software. Please contact the related supplier directly for advanced support questions.
