CRT home > SigPath Navigator

SigPath Navigator is a desktop application designed to visualize information stored in SigPath. Users can retrieve information and navigate connections between SigPath entities (i.e., molecules, reactions, models, etc.).

Data can also be retrieved from different instances and viewed in Navigator. This feature will be useful for curation when the relationships between the biochemical interactions need to be verified.

A new beta release of SigPath Navigator is now available. This version includes features presented in the previous production release, and many new features.

[ description ]

Current beta release:

Retrieval of different types of biochemical interactions, e.g. reactions, pathways, models etc.

Retrieval of backward references or other interactions that the selected nodes may also be involved in.

Assembly and submission of pathways.

Creates and saves XML documents for data exchange or curation.

Previous production release:

The navigator can retrieve data from SigPath instances accross the internet (query by SigPath identifier is currently supported).

Data retrieved from SigPath can be displayed graphically to show relationships between information elements.

Displays can be configured to show or hide elements of information. This feature helps to focus on specific parts of the information stored in SigPath.

[ tutorial ]

To get started with the navigator, we suggest that you try the following:

Start the navigator by clicking on the button above.

If a popup prompts you for "Do you want to trust the signed application distributed by: Weill Cornell Medical College L=New York S=NY C=US", click "Start". In the future, we will sign the application with a trusted certificate, so that this warning may not be shown.

Current beta release:

When the navigator has started, it displays a connection form. Choose "SigPath Beta" and click connect.

When the main navigator window opens, select the "Add spid" item under the "Edit" menu.

A dialog is displayed to prompt the user for a spid. Enter sp217831. The navigator will automatically contact the SigPath beta instance and retrieve data identified by spid sp217831 in SigPath Beta.

Select all the nodes, and right click to create a pathway.

From the menu bar, click "Submit Entities to SigPath".

You will be prompted to enter your SigPath user account information.

In the Submit List panel, you can either click the "Submit" button on the top, or save the submission as XML file (middle button labeled "XML").

Previous production release:

When the navigator has started, it displays a connection form. Choose "SigPath Production" and click connect.

When the main navigator window opens, select the "Add spid" item under the "Edit" menu.

A dialog is displayed to prompt the user for a spid. Enter sp217836. The navigator will automatically contact the SigPath production instance and retrieve data identified by spid sp217836 in SigPath Production.

A graphical representation of the data is shown on the right side of the window. The top panel on the left lets you hide or show information to be displayed.
