2D-diagrams of PDZ-peptide complexes have been generated using RbDg (Campagne, F., Bettler, E., Vriend, G., and Weinstein, H. (2003) Batch mode generation of residue-based diagrams of proteins. Bioinformatics. 19, 1854-5.).

The observed similarity between the available structures of PDZ-peptide complexes permits the prediction of interacting residue pairs in PDZ domain and peptide. For instance, the aB1 residue of the PDZ domain and the P-2 residue of the peptide interact in all known complexes. Two indicated their likely interaction, these two residues are colored red in the RbDg diagram. All putative interacting residue pairs and their color coding are shown in the table below.
