CRT home > OC Cluster

[ description ]

The OC Cluster analysis program performs cluster analysis on a system given a distance (dis-similarity) or similarity matrix. Although originally designed for comparing protein sequences, because the input to the program is a matrix, it can be used to cluster any data for which pair-wise distances or similarities are available. OC Cluster can perform it analysis using one of three simple clustering methods: single, complete, or means linkage. OC Cluter optionally produces simple PostScript dendrograms. A separate version is available that is packaged as a library of callable C subroutines that can be used from within your own C program.

[ documentation ]

The documentation for OC Cluster is available on-line from the Barton lab web site.

[ availability ]

OC Cluster 2.0 is available on all systems. After you have configured your account to use WMC login scripts, you can use the oc-cluster command on the command line. Examples:

$ oc-cluster dis complete id < test.dis
performs a complete linkage analysis on the distance matrix defined the test.dis file.
