Enter the choose command at the UNIX command prompt using the following syntax:
$
choose
package-name
package-version
Example: (on osiris)
$ choose fortran 7
selects an older version for the Intel Fortran compiler.
Any changes to environment variables needed to make the specified version of the indicated package work from the UNIX command prompt (usually including, but not necessarily limited to, the PATH) will be made to your shell.
To see the list of packages and versions know to the choose command on any system, enter the command:
$
wmcpkg -q
Note:The choose command is a new utility, and currently supports a few packages on a limited number of systems. To date, only a couple of packages on osiris are known to the choose system. Requests for additional packages to be supported by the choose utility can be made to the system administrator.
